Why is there a bad smell in my dishwasher?
|
|
|
|
There is nothing within the construction of a dishwasher that can cause bad odours.
If your dishwasher smells it can only be the result of food debris left within the
appliance because of a poor or faulty house drainage system, incorrect installation
of the dishwasher drain hose or some sort of blockage in the drain pump (see Dishwasher
Will Not Drain). Less likely is a problem with the water supply.
Our Dishwasher Care product (311304) should be used on a regular
basis (every 1-2 months) to remove grease and limescale. Every 4-6 months, the Maintenance Powder (311313) should be used for a thorough,
intensive clean to remove grease, starch and protein residues.
The Descaler should be used if a dishwasher is badly scaled. This should not happen
if salt or All-in-One tablets are used as advised in the manual, but it is recommended
that dishwashers are descaled once a year to ensure that limescale is completely
removed from the appliance.
